Owensboro Ranked Among Top Metros by Site Selection Magazine

The Owensboro metro was listed among the high-performing regions of 2016 by Site Selection magazine. The 2016 population tiers listed Owensboro’s metro as seventh among metros with population less than 200,000. This is the first time Owensboro has made the Total Projects Ranking by the oldest publication in corporate real estate and economic development field. Corporate real estate analysts and site selectors highly regard the data tracked by the proprietary Conway Projects Database. Owensboro was ranked within the top 10 of the tier-3 category.

It is also indicative of the hard work and cooperation of our local and state governments, their staffs, and our elected officials to get deals done for the people of Owensboro and Daviess County.”

Three metros of Kentucky were listed in the Tier-3 category with additional metros listed in Tier 1 and 2. The data reveals that companies choose to invest more often in metros within the top 10 of each category.

According to the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation’s 2015-2016 Annual Report, Owensboro experienced direct business investment of $52,205,813 in the region from firms assisted. Owensboro’s metro growth and investment has certainly become noticed in Western Kentucky. This designation shows that the Owensboro metro is competitive nationally and succeeding globally.

Site Selection magazine annually prints the Top Performing Metropolitans, listing the metros with the most corporate facility investment projects in the past year.
