Owensboro MSA median housing cost is 87% cheaper than national median cost and 12% cheaper than Kentucky median cost of owner-occupied homes (American Community Survey, 2006).

Owensboro’s MSA is among the 100 lowest median owner-occupied housing costs of all MSA’s in the country.

Kentucky’s median value of owner-occupied housing in 2006 ranked 7th lowest nationally:  Kentucky ranked 21st  in home ownership rate for 2006 ( 71.7%). The national average homeownership rate was 68.8% (US Census Bureau, Housing Vacancies and Ownership, 2006).
