Kentucky Innovation and Commercialization Process
The Kentucky ICC Process, modeled after best practice in other states, will be utilized to meet the needs of companies in the Greater Owensboro region. Companies are initially assessed to determine if they are a good match for the IC (high growth potential). After the initial interview, companies are invited to join Stage I and begin work on ingredients to early growth success.
Stage I focuses on the creation of a competitive business plan, integrated financials, an elevator pitch, and the development of critical business thinking skills.
Before moving to Stage II in the process, client companies will have a successful business plan, the product has market potential, and the business has private equity potential.
Stage II includes only clients with investor level concepts eligible for participation. Stage II includes a workshop on how to determine the value of a company, guidance in how the IC valued your company, and what to expect from investors based on this valuation. Moreover, the clients formal investor pitch will be aggressively critiqued in front of investment-savvy ICC reviewers. In the final step, the client's portflio will be added to the ICC's Kentucky Capital Network where it will be available for review by qualified investors.
Capital Network Stage- clients in the final step have produced a competitive business plan and pitch. The executive summary of the business plan will be added to the Kentucky Capital Network.
The Kentucky Capital Network is comprised of individuals, VCs, clubs, and groups who have filled out an application and are known qualified investors that will have access to the business idea.
