We will grow the knowledge-based economy by developing a life science cluster (Link to life science) and capitalizing on our alternative energy assets (Link to alternative energy)

Our competitive advantages:
Plant-Made Pharmaceuticals and the worlds only bio-processing facility located at Kentucky Bio Processing.
Cancer Research through the partnership between the University of Louisville's James Graham Brown Cancer Center and Owensboro Medical Health System.
Plant Made Natural Products through agriculture and alternative energy resources through Owensboro Grain and other natural product industries.

Diversify the Regional Economy

The region will have a strong diversified economy with growth through new business location, expansion of existing business and industry (Link to new/expanding State reports), and entrepreneurship (Link to Innovation Center).

Existing Business and Industry Program:
- We will partner with local businesses and industries to remain engaged in our community, assist them with expansion projects, and increase their competitiveness in the wider marketplace.
Targeted Marketing in New Business Expansion:
- We will target bioprocessing, health sciences, medical related industries (Link to biotech/life science), advanced manufacturing, energy, logistics, and back office/headquarter operations.
Regional Development:
- We will work closely with representatives from the Green River Region and southern Indiana to develop stronger regional relationships.
