Owensboro’s regional labor market area boasts a well-educated, diverse workforce of approximately 400,000 plus.  Area workers are not just skilled; they are filled with an incomparable work ethic.  That means employers get talented, hard workers.  Four local colleges and universities bring young talent to the area.

Work Ready Region

Daviess County was one of the first counties in Kentucky to be certified as a Work Ready Community. A Kentucky Work Ready Community certification is a measure of a county’s workforce quality and an assurance to business and industry that the community is committed to providing the highly-skilled workforce required in today’s competitive global economy.  The certification was granted by the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board.
